How to send silent (ping) and flash SMS

March 29, 2008

Silent SMS (also known as Ping SMS) is a message sent to another cellphone without informing the owner of the respective phone. You will get back the confirmation that the message was sent but no information will be delivered to the recipient. It can be used to check if the recipient phone is switched on.witched on

Flash SMS is a message which appears directly on the screen of the recipient phone and which is not saved after reading it.

To send these types of messages from a PC, myPhoneExplorer application can be used (I have talked about this software in a previous post).

If you need to send them from a Pocket PC you might wanna try HushSMS application.

For Symbian S60 series you can try this application via symbian weblog (probably no support for Ping SMS).

How to charge a Samsung YP-K3 MP3 player

March 25, 2008
Easy… you need Windows XP SP2.All other Windows versions are not supported. On the screen you will still see “charging” but, in reality, it is not charging unless you have XP.To bad I did not RTFM before buying the piece of crap. It is written in the user guide that only Windows XP SP2 is compatible with the player.
Conclusion: Samsung sucks!YP-K3JAB
